Warning: May contain alcohol

drunkcatThere are lots of things you should never do when drunk – operate dangerous machinery, drive a car, phone your mother, text your friends to tell them that you really, really love them. And blog.

In fact you should never write anything when drunk. You may think you’ve written something truly profound, but in the morning it’ll turn out to be an indecipherable heap of nonsense. Hemingway famously wrote when drunk. But Hemingway also famously wrote books that were mind-numbingly dull and unreadable.

You’ll be pleased to hear that I never, ever blog when drunk. So if you think my blog sometimes sounds like the deranged ramblings of a drunkard, I can assure you that it’s not. It’s just the way I am.

I do tweet when drunk though. I find it works better that way.

  1. I do realize that this a minor point in light of the very positive message about not drinking and driving the computer … but unless I’m very drunk myself, I believe it’s Hemingway with one m. Perhaps the difficulties with his name were responsible for some part of his suicidal despair? I continue to love your blog.

  2. I love your blog as well 🙂

  3. Lol….i find it very strange that the most violent social drug of all time is legal and thought to be “cute” and “funny”. Luckily surgeons in Australia are putting their weight behind having this drug of violence and stupity banned! You never read in the paper; Man buys slab of beer goes home and finds cure to disease. It is not a performance inhancing drug in anyway. The day this drug of the dumb is gone is a day worthy of celebration.

  4. Love this! 🙂
